Our survey results are based on the responses of pharmacy directors from a balanced cross-section of hospitals nationwide, with all facility sizes, locations and compounding volumes represented. Not surprisingly, hospital size is a strong determinant of compounding volume and to a lesser degree, staffing levels.

To view the FTEs allocated to compounding activities based on a facility’s compounding volume, go to www.pppmag.com/compoundingFTEs.pdf.  You can benchmark your facility’s staffing levels against those of similar sized facilities with similar compounding volumes.
