Refrigerators for Pharmacy Applications Follett’s stainless-steel REF5 and REF4 undercounter refrigerators support JCAHO standards for medication storage, and can provide quick pull down to temperature and consistent cooling, even with frequent door openings. An external digital temperature window can improve the ease of mandated temperature logging. An optional alarm visually and/or audibly alerts staff to high or low temperature excursions and can be connected to a central monitoring system. A battery back-up provides additional security for expensive medications in the event of power failure. The refrigerators’ 24-inch width and design require no side clearance and an automatic defrost can save staff time.
