Medfusion 4000 wireless syringe infusion pumps are now interoperable, allowing auto-charting of infusion data into a hospital's electronic medical record (EMR). Infusion therapy data are sent wirelessly from a Medfusion 4000 pump to the hospital's PharmGuard Server software, allowing clinicians to view, evaluate, and print information to help with continuous quality improvement initiatives. The new PharmGuard interoperability software add-on module for the PharmGuard Server software allows for automatic charting directly into patient records on the EMR system via Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) profiles.
