Robotic Compounding System

Grifols

Grifols introduces KIRO Oncology, a robotic system with engineering controls for safety, compliance, efficiency, flexibility, and ease-of-use throughout the sterile hazardous drug compounding process. Key benefits include gravimetric verification at all stages of the compounding process for ensuring dose accuracy, and in-process bar code readers and cameras that capture data on drugs, disposables, and final containers. Automated compounding and self-cleaning occur in an enclosed environment, which protects staff. The system is designed to enable vial reconstitution and bag filling in parallel, and accommodates a variety of sizes and manufacturers’ bags, syringes, infusers, and cassettes, as well as industry-standard disposables, mitigating disruption to current contracts and preferences.
