Drug Diversion Survey Results

Invistics Corp

Invistics, a provider of cloud-based software solutions designed to improve inventory visibility and analytics across health care systems, has released a study on the state of drug diversion in the United States. Conducted by Porter Research, the results reveal that nearly all health care professionals agree that drug diversion is occurring nationwide, yet almost half of the professionals who participated in the research are still functioning without drug diversion detection programs in place. Nearly all survey respondents believe that drug diversion negatively impacts quality of care, has an adverse impact on patient safety, and jeopardizes compliance, putting their organizations at risk. Yet almost two-thirds report they are only somewhat confident in the effectiveness of their organization’s drug diversion program, and 70% said they believe most diversion incidents in the US go undetected. The full report is available online through Invistics.
