Camera System for IV Compounding

Grifols

The Phocus RX from Grifols is a camera system used to document and validate the in-house compounding of prescription IV drugs. The system enhances the safety of medication compounding by recording in real-time the compounding procedure so a pharmacist can remotely validate the technician's activity and ensure accuracy before the medication is administered to a patient. The camera takes pictures of various steps in the compounding process and records the lot numbers, expiration dates, and other quantitative measures. The Phocus RX improves efficiency and workflow in the sterile compounding pharmacy by reducing the need for a pharmacist's presence during each compounding procedure. All information is properly stored and can be retrieved at any time for quality assurance purposes.
