Equashield's first and second generation CSTDs have been cleared by the FDA under the ONB code and have been substantiated to prevent microbial ingress up to a time period of seven days and substantiated for multiple reconnections of drug transfer components up to 10 times, which can result in cost savings for hospitals. The ONB code cleared Equashield as a closed antineoplastic and hazardous drug reconstitution and transfer system. With a fully encapsulated barrel and plunger, built-in closed pressure equalization, and an integrated single motion connector that remains free of drug residuals, Equashield's systems minimize environmental and individual exposure during preparation and administration of hazardous drugs.
