A free update 4013 for MILT 4, Medi-Dose’s unit-dose labeling software, is now available and includes the following features to reduce the risk of medication error: Tall Man Lettering and list matching to the NIOSH List of Antineoplastics and Other Hazardous Drugs, whereby newly entered and previously saved medication names are compared to the NIOSH list, notifying the user when a drug is potentially hazardous. Also part of the upgrade is Auto-Lot, which, by user-defined rules, generates an incremental or random lot number when a label is printed. The number is printed on the label and stored in a dedicated field so it can be recalled in the electronic log.
