Hospira introduces its iSecure Syringe self- contained drug delivery system. Traditional vial delivery requires a clinician to withdraw medication from a vial with a needle and syringe. The iSecure Syringe is self-contained requiring no additional components (needle and syringe) for use, thereby enhancing safety through the elimination of the needle. By incorporating tamper evidence into the design of iSecure, external packaging is not required helping to reduce waste. The compact size also allows for storage in pharmacy dispensing systems.
