Thomson Reuters introduces the Drug Interactions application for Micromedex, their clinical decision support software solution. This application allows clinicians and pharmacists to check 50 medications simultaneously for potentially harmful interactions. The Drug Interactions application includes severity ratings for each interaction (ranging from contraindicated to minor), as well as details on why the drugs interact, how interaction results will present themselves, and recommendations for monitoring patient outcomes. Both Micromedix Drug Interactions and Drug Information applications are free for download on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices. Access to the data is $49.99 per year in the US and free to current Micromedex customers.
