CareFusion launches the Chemo Safety System, an FDA-cleared, needle-free closed system transfer device (CSTD), available for all common vial sizes. The system helps protect health care personnel and patients from being exposed to hazardous drug vapor, spillage, spraying, and surface contamination during drug reconstitution, transport, and administration. Featuring the SmartSite VialShield, a CSTD compatible with 13-mm, 20-mm, and 28-mm vial sizes, the system is mechanically and microbiologically closed, which helps maintain sterility.
