All of us at PP&P would like to offer our sincere thanks to those pharmacy leaders who responded to our recent “State of <797> Compliance” survey. The time each of you took to answer those questions has paid off: We’ve received an impressive number of responses and are looking forward to publishing the compiled results in a special supplement to PP&P next month.

You can use the survey results to benchmark your facility’s progress in achieving <797> compliance, as well as plan for future projects and purchases to ensure the quality of your compounding operations. Among other data, the upcoming supplement will share:

•The percentage of hospitals reporting full compliance with USP <797>
•How many FTEs your peers allocate to compounding activities
•How your colleagues rate their compounding aseptic isolators
•And much more! This is not the only informative survey PP&P will conduct in 2008.

Be on the look out for at least two other opportunities to take part in PP&P’s research of current practices in health-system pharmacies. Every response counts, and we value your input in compiling the most thorough and accurate information possible. Our readers’ input is the lifeblood of this publication, and we are extremely appreciative of the time you take to be a part of PP&P, whether by reading each of our monthly issues and special supplements, responding to our surveys, or contacting us with your questions and suggestions. We hope you will keep PP&P at the front of your minds as you continue to improve patient safety and the practice of hospital pharmacy. All the best,

R. Mitchell Halvorsen
