The march toward automation is reflected in the current methods for bar coding syringes. Automated labeling systems have now supplanted manual processes as the primary means for bar coding syringes, ampules, and other oddly shaped items. Not surprising given their cost, robotic devices are more popular among large facilities (400+ beds).
