CSTD use during drug preparation continues to increase as most pharmacy directors recognize the additional safety these devices impart to pharmacy staff. This rapid adoption rate is expected to persist among facilities of all sizes. Conversely, few facilities are conducting wipe analysis to identify hazardous drug residue, and those that do tend to focus on compounding and storage areas; little testing is done in nursing areas where the hazardous drugs are administered.
