Pharmacy’s growing interest in automating pharmaceutical waste management is evidenced by the market growth this year, with more significant growth projected in the future. As new automation is introduced into the marketplace, there is a steady decline of manual programs managed on-site. We will closely watch trends in the automation of waste management as federal regulation are expected to change and new products continue to be developed. These expanding options should help pharmacy in meeting their cradle-to-grave responsibility for pharmaceutical waste.
