In the effort to deliver 100% of medications to the floor in bar coded unit dose, pharmacies must employ a variety of approaches from purchasing pre-packaged unit dose medications to repackaging either in-house or via an outsourced service. While hospital pharmacies typically utilize outsourced repackagers on a supplemental basis, they give solid ratings to their vendors and most plan to expand or at least maintain their current outsourcing volumes.
