The Pharmacy Purchasing & Products annual State of Pharmacy Automation issue, released every August, is eagerly anticipated for its automation use trend analysis and utility as a benchmarking resource. While the survey that produces the results depicted in that issue is administered by PP&P, ultimately, we consider that its true, functional ownership lies with each hospital pharmacy director who thoughtfully engages it.
Participation in surveys such as the State of Pharmacy Automation creates a tool—a yardstick for measuring and comparing your facility’s practices to those of similar facilities, as well as a national standard. The strength and accuracy of that yardstick depends wholly on the breadth of participation in the survey. Fortunately, we have been able to draw strong participation numbers for this survey for well over a decade, and that is a trend we hope continues.
A dedicated State of Pharmacy Automation survey email will be arriving in your inbox soon and we truly hope you take some time to fill it out. The influential results can work for you, and its strength comes from you. The valuable benchmarking data presented in this annual edition would not be possible without the time and effort you invest; for that, we thank you.

All the best,
