Nancy Smestad has worked as a pharmacist for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 25 years. She is currently the pharmacist consultant to the Veterans Health Administration Office of Information Patient Safety/Information Technology. Ms. Smestad evaluates medication management issues arising from software related scenarios, and serves as a technical advisor for the Office of Information (OI) in matters relating to improving patient safety within OI information systems. Ms. Smestad received her BS in Pharmacy (1978) and her MS in Pharmacy Practice (1981) from North Dakota State University College of Pharmacy.
