QS/1 announces that NRx and RxCare Plus have been certified by Surescripts to send and receive electronic prescriptions and prescription-related information using the new SCRIPT Standard version 2017071. The changes specified by the new standard include the expansion of fields and the addition of new message types to help the industry better serve patients. Hundreds of new data fields and an expanded SIG field of 1,000 characters allow for improved communication of patient information and prescriber notes between systems. The update also includes the ability to electronically change, cancel, or request an electronic prescription.
