Omnicell announces a partnership with RxScan to provide pharmacists the ability to perform pick verification for both technicians and pharmacists during medication preparation. This partnership will allow Omnicell customers to use SafetyStock to perform a bar code verification in the central pharmacy for restock orders that are being prepared for the cabinet. This will complement the ability to scan during restock, issue, and return at the ADC. RxScan’s product has the ability to scan virtually any medication bar code being dispensed from the pharmacy. This combined functionality will allow the pharmacy to perform a bar code check and verification on all doses leaving the pharmacy. This partner- ship will help Omnicell customers comply with the recently proposed ASHP Statement on BarCode Verification During Inventory, Preparation, and Dispensing of Medications.
