Long Grove Pharmaceuticals has received US FDA approval under an abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) for a generic version of dalbavancin for injection, an antibiotic bioequivalent to DALVANCE, which was originally approved in 2014 for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria. Dalbavancin for injection is a single-dose antibiotic indicated for both adult and pediatric patients administered intravenously in an outpatient setting. To maintain effectiveness, it should be used only to treat or prevent infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Available in a single-dose 500 mg vial, the product is manufactured in India and is AP-rated and Trade Agreement Act (TAA) compliant.
