The inclusive eXpressBatch modular system of software and devices from Grifols is designed for high-speed batch compounding of non-hazardous medications. The system helps to automate pharmacy tasks and aims to elevate performance by enhancing productivity, safety, efficiency, and compliance. Components include the KIRO Fill automated device, which can provide high-throughput batch compounding of non-hazardous sterile preparations to multiple types and sizes of final containers. Within the system, two robotic units work simultaneously to withdraw solutions from source containers and transfer them to the final containers using a transfer syringe. An integrated scale performs gravimetric control of the solution during withdrawal from the source container. Onscreen instructions guide users through the process.
The Gri-Fill semi-automated device provides an option for the preparation of non-commercially available source containers. It can also reconstitute drug vials if needed.
KIRO Link software creates or receives batch compounding orders from other information systems. It integrates devices and manages preparations, connectivity, and labeling, offering traceability for each step of the compounding process as well as reporting.
