B. Braun’s DoseTrac infusion management software mixes real-time information and retrospective reporting to provide insight that can inform protocol changes, reduce alerts, educate staff to drive drug library compliance, and decrease the possibility of adverse drug events due to misprogrammed infusion pumps. DoseTrac is designed to improve workflow by using PharmView real-time status view to promote just-in-time delivery of medication without having to walk the floors. In addition, for nursing, DoseTrac monitors infusion status and drug library compliance with a real-time view, enabling quick and efficient response to alarms. Retrospective reports help identify trends and define the need for staff education and protocol updates. Integrated pumps, reporting, and data comprise the synchronized intelligence infusion platform, ensuring the safety of patients while optimizing operational efficiency within the health system.

Fresenius Kabi’s Agilia large volume pump combines a user-friendly, lightweight pump with Vigilant Drug Library Software to meet the needs of multiple care areas within large and small hospital environments. The drug library helps limit the risk of administering unauthorized drugs, and can be customized to meet clinical needs, including the creation of up to 19 care areas with each area containing as many as 200 drugs with 5 concentrations per drug. Features include weight-based dosing, clinical advisories, loading dose, bolus dose, and drug X (for non-formulary or new drugs). Quick drug editing allows pharmacists to enable and disable these features.
