MedSnap ID from MedSnap is a mobile application that allows users to identify an entire set of patient pills using a smartphone camera. The app has been created to address medication safety by aiding clinicians in acquiring accurate medication history from patients on complex regimens. The product screens for drug-to-drug interactions as well as drug-to-disease interactions and provides clinicians access to detailed clinical information through comprehensive drug monographs. The system requires a MedSnap Snap Surface to accurately photograph and identify medications and the application exports Snap reports through print, email, or directly into the hospital's EHR. MedSnap ID is currently available for iPhone 4S and iPhone 5.
